Ever attend a networking event, or a social gathering for creatives? It is a sight to behold. Once the conversations get flowing, it’s just amazing. Remember those Furby toys? You know the ones that were fine on their own, but once you got them together with other Furbys, they would just yuk it up until their batteries died.
Creatives need each other. It’s as simple as that. Ever try to have a conversation with a, “non creative”(no disrespect to non creatives) about concepts or ideas and they just don’t seem to get it? Again I say, creatives need each other. So many concepts and ideas are born from these social gatherings. A virtual meeting of creative minds. Sometimes I feel I need other creatives around me 24/7. We just elevate each other on so many levels. I recently had a conversation with a friend of mines that is a Videographer. We went back and forth with everything, combining genres, personal projects, etc. After we ended our conversation, I noticed the call log on my cell phone read 1:45 minutes, but it didn’t really seem that long.
To me, creatives just simply make each other better. We keep each others brains busy, and that is always a great thing. Im actually attending 2 network events this week. Ill give you a little hint, one of them are on the U.S.S. Intrepid. Let the Furby fest begin!
